Therapists Offering Individual Therapy

What is Individual Therapy?

Individual therapy, also called psychotherapy or talk therapy, is a powerful way to improve your mental, emotional, and behavioral health. In one-on-one sessions, you’ll work with a compassionate, knowledgeable, and licensed professional who listens and understands your unique experiences.

Through open conversations, you’ll explore your emotions, challenges, and strengths. Therapy helps you develop effective coping strategies for difficult situations, build greater self-awareness, and learn how to create healthier relationships. Over time, this process leads to lasting positive changes in your life.

Therapy has transformed the lives of countless people. Research shows it not only improves mental well-being but also supports physical health by reducing risks related to stress, such as heart problems. It strengthens relationships and boosts overall life satisfaction.

If you’ve ever felt stuck or hopeless, therapy can help you create a meaningful life. Discover why talking with a skilled professional remains one of the most effective ways to heal and thrive.

What can I expect in therapy?

1. We’ll learn who you are as a person

In the first few sessions, your therapist will take time to understand what led you to seek therapy and how they can help you. They will learn about your family, health, challenges, culture, beliefs, and what matters most to you. Together, you will talk about your goals for therapy. This is a chance for you and your therapist to get to know each other and build trust as you work together to feel better.

2. We’ll create a plan just for you

You and your therapist will collaborate to create a personalized roadmap to help you reach your goals and feel better. As you share your struggles and experiences, your therapist will identify evidence-based strategies designed to support your well-being. These strategies will be tailored to align with your personality, culture, values, and goals. Throughout your sessions, you’ll regularly revisit the plan together to assess what’s working, what isn’t, and determine the best path forward.

3. We’ll collaborate on your journey towards healing

Most people meet with their therapist for about 50 minutes once or twice a week. These sessions are tailored to fit your needs and work towards your goals. For some that means practicing new coping strategies. For others, it’s a space for deep reflection or mindfulness. Others just need someone who’ll listen. Sometimes it takes time to notice the changes, but many notice an improvement in their mental wellbeing after just a few sessions.

How can therapy help me?

  • You might be going in circles—stuck in the same thought loops and behavior patterns. Working with a therapist can help you actualize your values and become the kind of person you would be proud of being.

  • Some of us carry old wounds. We may have even given up hope of things getting better, or felt like we never stood a chance in the first place.

Therapy can change that. Even if you worked with a therapist before, there are different kinds of therapy, new research, and new ways of understanding the heart, mind and body.

What could your life look like if the past didn’t still hurt so much?

  • Something feels wrong, but you can’t put your finger on it. You try to work on it yourself, or just push it aside, but the feeling comes back stronger. Working with a knowledgeable therapist can help you connect the dots and reach deeper understanding of yourself and how you work.

  • Some people are fortunate to grow up in environments where, at a young age, they are taught to understand, communicate and regulate their emotions. Others have not had the same opportunity.

Whether it’s learning how to stop having panic attacks, how to communicate with your partner when you’re mad, or how to clean your room even though you don’t feel like it, our therapists can be your guides.

It’s not too late to learn.

  • People need people. In our world of isolation and loneliness, therapy can provide a much needed source of personal connection. The therapeutic relationship is a professional one, and it’s still an authentic connection. Your therapist will work to understand you, your story and your needs. Our therapists are here because they care.
