Is this the end of your story, or the start of a new chapter?

Starting couples therapy can feel like a significant and sometimes daunting step. It can be scary to acknowledge that things aren’t as picture perfect as they may seem on the outside. Seeking help and support takes bravery.

Many couples often wait too long before beginning couples therapy. The hurt and resentment that has built up over time makes it so much harder to face problems together rather than seeing their partner as the problem.

Take a moment to consider how starting therapy today can help you avoid long-term pain and pave the way for healing. This journey could even help you rediscover deep love and meaningful connection with your partner.

Let this be the first step in creating the safe and loving relationship everyone deserves.

What do you do in Couples Therapy?

1. Discover who you are as a couple

The therapist will get to know you as both individuals and as a unit. You begin to see your partner, yourself, and your relationship in a new light. Together, you’ll discover the patterns in your relationship, what’s working and what isn’t. You’ll learn to recognize the emotions and behaviors that lead to conflict and disconnection in order to begin to transform your relationship.

2. Learn ways to give and receive love

Learn new skills to communicate your needs for closeness as well as needs for autonomy in a way your partner receives well. Conversely, practice ways to listen and understand your partner with care, love and empathy. Discover ways to stop an ask from turning into a blowup.

Change is hard, but for love, it is worth it! You deserve to feel safety, tenderness, support and love.

3. Build a secure and lasting relationship

Not only will you learn how to connect more in a therapy session, but you will also learn how to translate what you learn into your life outside of therapy. You will see how what you learned in therapy creates lasting changes in feeling less lonely and hurt, being there for each other when you need it, and trusting fully with your whole heart that you and your partner have created a safe, happy and loving relationship.

Therapy that fits to your relationship needs.

Your relationship is important to us. Our therapists use supportive approaches that won't judge or blame you for being human and facing challenges. They recognize your efforts to improve your relationship, even when it's difficult. Instead of taking sides, they will listen to everyone’s perspective. Their goal is to help you develop healthy communication skills and rebuild love and trust between you.

You deserve to feel better—fully and completely.

How Therapy Can Support Your Relationship’s Unique Needs

  • If you or your partner are healing from trauma, it’s natural for those experiences to affect your relationship. Therapy can offer a safe, grounded space to grow together. With the guidance of a therapist who understands how trauma shows up in connection, trust, and intimacy, you and your partner can learn how to create a relationship filled with safety, love and joy.

  • The emotional aftermath of betrayal can feel like the ground was pulled out from under you. Couples therapy supports:

    • Open dialogue to understand what happened.

    • Learn how to begin healing by working with an experienced professional who can guide you taking the steps that rebuild safety and avoid the pitfalls that lead to more hurt and destruction.

    • Choosing your direction. After infidelity, it can be hard to know what to do. Your therapist will support you in understanding the best choice for yourself and your relationship.

  • When you or your partner are navigating mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or addiction, therapy can help you strengthen your connection while caring for one another. Together, we can:

    • Explore how to offer loving support without losing your own sense of self

    • Build healthy routines and prepare for challenging moments with compassion

    • Care for the relationship, so both partners feel seen, supported, and steady

  • LGBTQ+ relationships can face unique outside pressures from family, community or society. It can take a toll on even the strongest and most loving relationships. Therapy can be a space where your love is not only accepted, but celebrated.

    • Navigate family rejection, coming out, or identity exploration with an affirming professional

    • Strengthen your connection in the face of societal stressors or discrimination

    • Thrive in a space that honors your relationship, identity and experiences
